Q. how do i assemble my fresco?

the main chair assembly consists of three steps:
step 1 – place the base on the floor
step 2 – place the swivel shaft into the base
step 3 – place the seat unit onto the swivel shaft. tighten the butterfly screw under the seat unit.

tip: before placing the seat unit on the shaft, press the white button and pull the shaft upward to extend the shaft.

for cradle mode (0 to 6 months):
press the recline handle and tilt the chair back to horizontal position. individual u-clips and central harness cover (anchor point of 5-point harness) should be installed (stored in the seat pocket compartment behind the fabric seat pad).

for high chair mode (6 months to 3 years):
step 1 – insert comfort nest (usa only – for smaller babies)
step 2 – snap on footrest
step 3 – snap on safety bar and attach trays as desired a: for toddler seat mode (3 years and older): safety bar, footrest, safety harness and comfort nest are optional. if the safety bar is removed, the individual u-clips and central harness cover should be installed (stored in the seat pocket compartment behind the fabric seat pad).

for toddler seat mode (3 years and older):
safety bar, footrest, safety harness and comfort nest are optional.  if the safety bar is removed, the individual u-clips and central harness cover should be installed (stored in the seat pocket compartment behind the fabric seat pad).

Q. i am having some difficulty fitting the safety bar to the seat unit, what is the correct procedure?

step 1 – make sure the seat unit is in the vertical/upright position
step 2 – it is important to insert/clip-in the 2 "u-shaped" clips into each side of the seat unit before inserting the central anchor point. you will need to apply downward force to "click" these u-clips into place correctly. when installed correctly, the plastic u-clips will fit snugly (married) over the round metal joints, preventing the crotch bar from moving upwards when reclining the chair to the middle recline position.

tip: if the u-clips appear to be in place, but it is clear that the plastic u-clip and metal part are not fully married, push down on the left and right side (simultaneously) of the crotch bar itself until the plastic parts audibly click into place fully with the metal part

step 3 – once the u-clips are correctly in place, insert the central anchor point into the front/center of the seat until it clicks into place

Q. can i recline the seat when the safety bar and trays are on?

yes, the seat unit can be reclined, with safety bar and trays on.

step 1 – squeeze the recline adjustment handle located in the back of the seat unit.
step 2 – gently recline the seat until the seat “clicks” into the middle recline

tip: when reclining the seat by squeezing the recline adjustment lever with one hand (per step 1 above), place your other hand on the top/center of the safety bar/trays and apply a small amount of downward pressure:  this will ensure the u-clips do not become loose.  this could happen in the event that you are attempting to recline beyond the middle recline position, applying too much pressure to the reclining movement or have not properly married the plastic u-clips on the safety bar with the metal joints on the seat frame

notes:
– the seat unit cannot be reclined to the full horizontal (cradle) position with trays on
– the seat unit cannot be reclined from the vertical/upright position when using the comfort nest (for smaller babies)

Q. how can i move the fresco about?

step 1 – make sure the swivel resistor is in the closed position
step 2 – make sure the castors, located at the front/centre of the base under the “bloom” logo are positioned at the front/centre of the direction you would like to move the fresco
step 3 – place your hand in recliner handle area at the back of seat unit and lift the fresco so that the castors have enough clearance to roll freely.

Q. i am having difficulty getting the chair to go up and down?

step 1 – make sure the swivel resistor is in the open position
step 2 – make sure the butterfly screw on the base of the seat unit is turned enough to apply pressure to the swivel resistor shaft – turn until this feels tight
step 3 – try to lower or raise the unit using the two levers located on either side of the seat unit

if the chair still does not go up and down freely:

step 1 – loosen the butterfly screw on the base of the seat unit
step 2 – remove the seat unit from the steel shaft

tip: rocking the seat slightly/gently from side to side will assist in removing the seat.

step 3 – simultaneously depress the white plastic button on the top of the swivel shaft and grab/pull the steel shaft in an upwards direction away from the base – this should release the internal gas pressure which may have resulted in the swivel shaft being in its lowest position.  once the shaft is elevated, reinstall the seat onto the shaft. the white button should engage with the seat mechanism, activating the gas-assist function and allowing smooth up/down travel.

Q. the swivel resistor does not stop the seat unit from rotating?

with adult force it is still possible to rotate the seat with resistor engaged, however the resistor is designed to prevent inadvertent or free spinning.  please be assured fresco bloom meets all safety and quality criteria with/without resistor engaged.
